The 11th World Congress of Veterinary Anaesthesiology (WVCA 2012) will be hosted at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from the 23th to the 27th September 2012. The scientific program will showcase world class speakers and cutting-edge technology. The Wildlife Immobilisation course will take a more technical approach and focus on theory and hands on training with relation to the veterinary immobilisation and management of the African wildlife patient. Much of what the course will cover can obviously be applied to other species, all over the world, including the captive situation. Lectures and practicals will cover, amongst others, pharmacology, physiology, species specific considerations, darts and dart guns and hands-on immobilisations including smaller and larger wildlife species for as much experience as possible!
